The other day, I made the horrendous mistake of Googling camel spiders. Do it now, I dare you. [Here’s the wikipedia page to make it easier for you].
HORRIFYING! Seriously, what the heck is that?? Why are they so ENORMOUS? They’re also creepily pale. I was kind of wondering why they were called camel spiders, but I honestly was too grossed out to continue my research, so I’ll probably never know (lest one of you kind souls tells me). All that I gathered from that Wikipedia page was that they can grow to about a foot in size and that they feed on small, ground-dwelling animals. WHAT?! It was after that point that I immediately stopped reading because the pictures began to creep the hell out of me. I’m serious. I shut my laptop in pure disgust.
I suppose I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but if you have crippling arachnophobia, I suggest you never, ever Google this. EVER. I mean, I’m not actually afraid of spiders, but that was possibly the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen. I legitimately shivered. And yelped in terror. Before I shut my laptop in utter repulsion. So yeah, I would avoid this at all costs.
