Instagram: it’s beginning to look a little bit like Christmas

It’s almost like I’m a pro photographer!

Carolyn and I went on a "clay"date.

See? This is me. On the clay date.

And this is the finished product! A little wobbly, a lot adorable.

I'm trying to see if I can pull of beanies. I'm ... unsure.

I'm 100% sure about this sweater though. PUPPIES AND BOW TIES!

Our very first Christmas tree. It still needs a skirt and we have a tiny owl on the top instead of an angel or star, but I'm still very proud.

Indie rock lullaby

Rat/dog strikes again! This week it has decided to become nocturnal and frolic all night above my bed. I’m happy you’re happy rat/dog, but actually, I hate you. So, I’ve been putting in my headphones and drifting off to some beautiful music. In case you have a rat/dog in your life: Continue reading

This Cyrus Mash-up Cover Might Just Make Your Monday

Well, it has been a long time, and I apologize profusely. But I have returned! And I bring you excellent things!

This Miley Cyrus cover is both ridiculous and fantastic all at once. It has violins and Billy Ray Cyrus, but still manages to be excellent. Enjoy! Continue reading

Staycation

This week I’m on official “staycation” in an attempt to use up some of my vacation days. What a luxurious problem to have: too many vacation days. Delightful. So in any case, I’ve been off and essentially lounging. Today I did a bit of Christmas shopping, searched (unsuccessfully) for new boots, bought a few groceries and got a novel out of the library. Then I sat at home eating popcorn, watching QI. It’s been glorious. Tomorrow I’m going to meet Hilly for lunch and bake cookies. Thursday I might make some soup. Friday I get my hair cut. I wish I could be on staycation forever. Continue reading

This song made my day

My most favourite band in the whole entire world is absolutely the Shout Out Louds (though only by a hair these days because the Jungle Giants are just so super great too), and today I learned that Ted, from SOL, has released a couple EPs with his wife, under the name A Nighthawk. They’re just brilliant as anything associated with the Shout Out Louds would be. I highly suggest you check them out; this song made my day. Continue reading

November is a truly amazing month

November is a truly amazing month when you’re not in school. When you’re in school it’s all chilly overcast trudges to campus and midterms and stuffy chapped noses. When you’re done school it’s horribly rainy days spent warm inside with woollen socks on and beautiful golden leaves outside your window. The other best things about this November? Continue reading

Happy Halloween!

We’re celebrating Halloween tonight by giving out candy, which we purchased last minute. Slim pickings let me tell you! I have no idea if there are any little children in my neighbourhood but I half hope not so that we can keep all our mini Aero bars. Mmmm. Continue reading

Hop on the beautiful bandwagon

I think, that on a seriously trivial level, the world can be divided into two types of people: people who get Benedict Cumberbatch and people who don’t. My roommate doesn’t get Benedict Cumberbatch. This whole post is for her. Continue reading

Sherlock Fandom, Rejoice!

The season three premiere date has finally been released, after what has felt like an eternity. I pity those who watched the seasons while they were actually on air and have consequently been waiting even longer for this glorious, glorious announcement.

Sherlock BBC will be returning to televisions near you on January 19th. Of course, this is probably the British release date, but still! In what still feels a little bit like an unreasonably long time from now, the third season will exist in the world. I suggest that people start preparing themselves now, especially if you have a tumblr account.

It’s about to get real, son!
